What is the meaning of ‘Kochadayan’? Well, it is a pure Tamil word. The name of a Pandian who lived in 750AD was Kochadayan. ‘Ko’ means king and ‘chadayan’ means one with long hair. It’s said it is one of the names of Lord Shiva. There’s even a writer of this name.

Why all this explanation? Because this is the title of Rajini’s next film. After completing ‘Kochadayan’ only ‘Rana’ will take off. Like ‘Avatar’ and ‘Tin Tin,’ it’s to be made in 3D. They say this would be one of the first Indian films to be made with 3D technology.


Produced by Eros in association with Media One Global Entertainment, the film will be directed by Soundarya Rajini, with story, screenplay, dialogues and direction supervised by K.S. Ravi Kumar.
Soundarya reckons that ‘Kochadayan’ will hit the screens in August 2012.

KS Ravikumar Asked if this was an attempt to revive ‘Sultan the Warrior', an animation project planned by Soundarya a few years ago, KS Ravikumar, the director of Raana and Direction supervisor of Kochadayan said, “Not at all. This is a completely different subject.” ‘Kochadaiyaan' is one of the names of the Lord Shiva, and the name of a king.

Rajni’s next movie name is Kochadayan

Rajni’s upcoming movie ‘Rana’ has been renamed as Kochadyan. Unnamed sources from Kollywood revealed yesterday. The Superstar Rajnikanth blockbuster is going to be released in 3D. A lot of technology  from hollywood is implemented in the movie. K.S.Ravikumar was supposed to direct the movie, but now the direction has been handed over to Soundarya Rajnikanth. K.S.R will write  the story, screenplay and dialogues.Thy mystery behind the name change is still unknown

Kochadayan Ranadheeran, the name of the ancient south Indian King is been named as the tiltle of the movie. EROS International is going to produce this historical movie.
